Quintette of Questions: Lily Malone
Quintette asks writers five quick questions. This week’s interview is with Lily Malone!
Fairway To Heaven. The name wasn’t hard to pick at all. This book is based on my entry to the RWA’s 2013 Little Gems (Sapphire), and in the story, the ‘sapphire’ came from the name of a set of golf clubs. Cobra Sapphires. Fairway to Heaven just came to me, and I loved it. I don’t mind the Led Zeppelin song either.
2. If you could choose anyone from any time period, who would you cast as the leads in your latest book?
If I could have a mix of Chris Hemsworth with long hair from Thor, and Charlie Hunnam (with long hair) from Sons Of Anarchy, I think you’d have Brayden Culhane spot on. Although that said, it was watching Brad Pitt in World War Z (zombie movie) where Brad had long hair that confirmed the whole long-haired hero for me (I had been wavering prior to Brad’s run-in with the zombies).
For Jenn? She’s harder. I don’t have a set woman in my head when I picture her. Maybe a little bit Christina Appelgate. I wonder if Christina ever played golf?
3. What five words best describe your story?
Brave. Risky. Coastal. Personal. Contemporary.
4. Who is your favourite fictional couple?
Oh no! I’m a Twilight tragic, so I’m going to say Bella and Edward. (Sorry Narrelle).
[NMH: LOL. They’re not my thing, but there are no judgements here. All love welcome!)
5. What song always makes you cry?
Walking in Memphis by Marc Cohn. It’s always brought me out in goosebumps. This year I saw Steve Clisby and Mitchell Anderson perform it on The Voice and I thought that was pretty awesome. But if I stack them up together, I can’t go past Cohn’s version.
