Quintette asks writers five quick questions. This week’s interview is with Lea Darragh!
Lea Darragh
1. What’s the name of your latest book – and how hard was it to pick a title?
My latest book is titled Almost Mine. What was difficult about naming this novel was deciding between the numbers of titles that suited it just as much as the next. I write in a room filled with music, it’s my muse, if you will, and when I heard this one line from a song, I knew that that was it. Thanks, One Republic!!
2. If you could choose anyone from any time period, who would you cast as the leads in your latest book?
Well, Nick is a quiet, broody, charming sort of a man. I can’t see anyone but Jake Gyllenhaal playing him. Complemented by the sweetly beautiful, Blake Lively, as Cate.
3. What five words best describe your story?
Hope. Journey. Struggle. Charming. Winery.
4. Who is your favourite fictional couple?
Immediately, with no comparison, it is Alexander Barrington and Tatiana Metanova from The Bronze Horseman. If you don’t know them – and I’m a little biased – you have not read about love yet. Their lives teeter upon death, yet they risk it all for the love, the craving, the absolute need to be together. Their courage is inspiring. I’m in awe of them.
5. What song always makes you cry?
Unwritten Natasha Beddingfield. I cry most over songs that are uplifting. Songs that send a message that each of us is capable of anything; what could be more inspiring than that? Hope makes me cry, in a lovely, I can do this sort of way. I hope this makes sense…
